Game Development - (University year 1)

TDEMO ~ Technical Development for games

In my course I've both made and contributed to games. I have listed them below in chronological order. (Only a couple of these are shown in my itch account, despite each one being a difference person /group, as we still haven't managed to get the team member, who published the game, to add the other members who contributed as contributors. But thus is the woe of group work sometimes.. For the ones I did have edit permissions, I formatted the game's page to match to their themes.)

START mini PROJECTS:

Turtle Terror ~ 1 week : https://lalune.itch.io/turtle-terror

For our first game we were not in a group but by ourselves.

I came up with the name Mayit as this means dead in Arabic so I thought it fitting for an egyptian game. The other elements I contributed are: The cover image, coin animation, snake enemy animation and Anubis enemy animation.

The Crown of Stars ~ 2 weeks - https://dogmut.itch.io/robot-fighter

Please ignore the title of "Robot Fighter" on the link as origionally and as a group we all agreed upon "The Crown of Stars" as a name since this was both our assigned group name but also the source of our inspiration for the game. For some reason the publisher decided to change the name to "Robot fighter" upon upload, use a different cover image that wasn't one that one of the artists actually made that we all agreed on and also unfortunatly never came around to reference the other members of our group who contributed. However, since

Overall this game went better than the previous game I had worked on previously as we did work somewhat colaborativly. The only part I had any success in was the animation as I really struggled when programming elements for this. So for the actual function/s of the game I didn't really play a part in that. The idea for my characters came from the word of "stars", ie space, spaceman and so naturally for his enemy I thought tech vs magic. What else should rival a headless dead spaceman then a boxer plantman? The concept I put forward was that they are fighting over a crown of litural stars, which my group liked and worked around.

For both of Spaceman and Plantman I made a range of animations for different movements that I have put together to form giffs that can be seen below in the gallery provided. The animation segments are: short to long range and vice versa weapon switches, using the weapon/fists, walking cycle and finally the death sequences.
